Welcome to the second edition of CS COUPE, the magazine dedicated to the BMW E9.

Since the launch, I’ve been overwhelmed with your positive feedback and support. Initially, I set out to make this a quarterly magazine; despite my best efforts, it has proven nearly impossible for me to achieve this goal on my own. As I’m dedicated to preserving the quality of the content, I have elected to publish bi-annually instead. Although this wasn’t an easy choice, I felt that quality is more important than quantity, and I hope you can agree with me.

At the same time, I’ve continued to focus on the printed version of the magazine, with the online platform remaining in the background. As work on the next issue begins, I plan to explore options for a digital version of the magazine, alongside introducing the knowledge library in the future. Most importantly, I’ll continue to make the printed version my priority.

You may notice that the “notable events’ section has disappeared, as it didn’t work with the magazine’s publication frequency. It was also becoming increasingly challenging to select events from around the world. Instead, I feel local knowledge and research would be more beneficial to readers who enjoy attending events.

With that out of the way, I can finally introduce you to some of the highlights of this issue. We open this edition with a contribution from Glyn Jones, who shares his story about how a trip to the Nürburgring turned into a life-threatening situation by the time they got home.

The feature articles have once again raised the bar, and I am excited to present you with our most extensive feature to date. The “Palette of Elegance” article focuses on the colours and fabrics available to the E9, including regional differences, preferences, statistics, and more. Last year’s OktoberFest was all about bringing the community together and enjoying our cars. With the help of CS COUPE, we’re sharing the message and story with the global community and continuing with one of the magazine’s aims: strengthening and expanding the international community.

The technical articles once again combine research with practical DIY subjects. We cover replacing the handbrake cable, which isn’t as straightforward as anticipated, and multiple ways to improve your car’s headlights. With the help of John Castle and MK Motors, we provide step-by-step guides that make these projects achievable for everyone.

As our community is the vital backbone of the magazine and the continued survival of our cars, we are excited to showcase the show-winning cars of OktoberFest and have their owners share their stories.

As expected, plenty will keep you busy for the foreseeable future. So, pull in your comfy seat, grab a drink, and settle in for another fantastic issue of CS COUPE. Before I sign off, I hope the content inspires and motivates you to share your story with us. Your contributions, particularly those from outside the UK, are greatly appreciated.

Gute Fahrt!
